And that is the beauty of crockpots. On days when we have a field trip or activity planned outside the house or we have friends coming over (or, if I'm being honest, I just don't feel like being tied to the kitchen all day), I can toss a few ingredients into my handy dandy slowcooker and leave it to do its thing.
When it comes to slowcooked meals, it's hard to beat ooey, gooey, sticky sweet ribs. Yum, yum! Sometimes we have them with a nice big salad and a baked potato, but my favorite way is to eat them on a sandwich. We use Rudi's hot dog buns. Just add mayo, toss in a rib, maybe add some cheese or pickles, and you're good to go. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
(These ribs are very saucy. If you prefer a drier rib, you might want to cut down on the sauce.)
Gluten Free Crockpot Rib Recipe
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce
- 1 bottle A1 steak sauce
- 3 pounds beef short ribs
- Put a small amount of steak sauce and barbecue sauce in the bottom of your crockpot.
- Layer short ribs, sliced onions, barbecue sauce, and steak sauce. (Number of layers will depend on the size of your ribs and your crockpot. You may only have one layer, and that is fine.) Make sure your ribs are covered with sauce.
- Cook on low 8-10 hours.
- Serve as desired. (I really suggest you try it on gf hot dog buns. So good!)
